At the 15th Annual Golf Classic, VNSHS was delighted to honor Robert ‘Rob’ Banzer, Superintendent of Northport – East Northport UFSD, for his outstanding service and impact on the community. Since taking over as Superintendent in 2015, Rob has worked to create a collaborative culture based on a common vision and mission focused on the needs of students and expanded educational opportunities through the creation of the Port Academy. During his tenure the district passed a construction bond which has transformed classrooms and athletic fields. He attends numerous student events throughout the year and has participated in St. Baldrick’s, Relay for Life and the ALS Bike Trek for Long Island. Rob is a member of the Northport Rotary, The New York State Council of School Superintendents and the Suffolk County School Superintendents Association.

As the largest fundraiser of the year, this year’s VNSHS Golf Classic brought together golfers and businesses from New York to Florida to raise more than $50,000.00 for Hospice House.  The day kicked off with brunch followed by a shotgun start at noon, 18 holes and concluded with a reception, awards ceremony and raffle. With breathtaking waterfront views, Indian Hills offers a memorable and challenging course to play on.

19th Annual Run for the Health of It

Saturday, May 11, 2019 VNSHS 505 Main Street Northport, NY

Nearly 500 guests attended this year’s 5K as VNSHS honored Running Royalty Nina Kuscsik, NYRR Hall of Famer and first woman to officially win the Boston Marathon and Gary Muhrcke, winner of the first NYC Marathon and Founder of Super Runners Shop. Presented by Atria, Avanti and Caring People during National Nurses Week, nearly 500 guests attended this year’s 5K, kids fun run and festival. Guests enjoyed complimentary refreshments, music, raffles, stretching, kids activities and more. With the generous, loyal support of our sponsors, runners/walkers and their families and friends, and volunteers, $15,000 was raised to support Hospice House.

The day kicked off with a kids fun run, followed by the 5K with 285 finishers and concluded with the Honoree and runner awards ceremony.  Cash prizes were awarded to the top 3 overall male and female finishers, male and female masters champions, top nurse and top team. Prize sponsor, Signature Premier Properties, presented the top 3 finishers in age categories with Amazon gift cards. Hospice House 15th Anniversary Benefit

Featuring the 20s, 30s and jazz music of Grammy Award Winning Artist Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks, a roarin’ good time was had by all at the Hospice House 15th Anniversary Benefit. Guests explored The Founder’s Room, a Member’s Only speakeasy inspired venue featuring rooms such as the Frankenstein, Shawshank Redemption and Gangster, and participated in a lively auction of luxurious getaways and entertainment prizes. Dance lessons by Swing Dance LI kept everyone on their toes.
